a trip to alaska

- this is the location of the helibase. nice, eh?
- to get to the good stuff, we fly deep into the chugach.
- having a laugh with myriam in the heli.
- checking the lines at "buddy love"
- same face, different angle. that`s the line i took......
- .....and that`s what it looked like shooting from the heli.
- this one is called "icecubes"
- and this beauty is called "pontoon".
- on "gamblers" mitch was the first snowboarder ever to do do it. a great spine, but with a gnarly exit (over 55° and icy).
- that`s full support
- here we have "filthy spines"
- and that`s the deeep top section!
- "whatchamacallit ridge"
- big drop on "whatchamacallit ridge". can you find the drop in the picture above?
- sticked it. stoked!
- afternoon shooting session with ocean view....
- ....and getting a first track with ocean view.
- another line.....
- biiiiig windlips in alaska!!!
- last run of the day in sunset light.
- finding a way through the glacier ice.
- a first descent called "joker".
- mystery boarder. i love this picture.
- doing interviews is always funny.
- going for a paddle with mitch and seppi.
- when the weather is bad you have to keep yourself busy. nostalgic windsurfing with not much wind and 3° water temperature.
- trying to drink it blue with basejumper chris.
- our friend rick the fisherman tells mitch about the size of the titts of his last catch while his girlfriend sarah cannot take it very seriously.
- in german this is called the "fressflash", in english they call it the "mungies" (if you know what i mean......)
- evening mood on the last day of the trip in ak.
- on the way back to europe i did a stopover in santa cruz, california, to see my friend andy and his family and to catch some waves. here we are at steamer lane, the most famous break of santa cruz.
- this break is called 2nd street, and there were only 4 people out and loooong waves!! a good day to say goodbaye to the usa and head back home after 4 weeks of being on the road.......
